About us

The Institute for Theology & Law (ITL) promotes a Christian worldview of civil government, law, justice, public policy, and religious liberty, grounded in Christian theology. ITL believes that both the church and the state suffer when Christians do not maintain a biblically informed view of their relationship. The church should not assume the role of government, and the state should not assume the function of the church. When the church fails to inform law and public policy properly, the government fails to restrain evil as intended. Nations that exclude God from law and public policy will not be blessed or prosper. The page also highlights organizations like the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, Pacific Justice Institute, and Biola Christian Apologetics Program, and recommends readings such as “The Church and Politics” by PJI and “Protect Your Ministry” by ADF.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD” (Psalm 33:12)
